2026 NSCA Hall of Fame Induction – Congratulations David Sharpe!

In recognition of his lasting contributions to the NSCA, NVSCA, and Carson Valley Clays, David Sharpe was inducted into the NSCA Hall of Fame on September 26, 2026 at a ceremony held during the CVC Club Championships. David joined the NSCA in 1995 and has been a member of the NVSCA for 31 years, demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication to the shooting sports in Nevada. In the late 1990s, local shooters faced a critical shortage of facilities when Northern Nevada’s only two sporting clays venues—Sage Hill in Reno and Little Mondeaux in Genoa—both closed. Refusing to let the sport fade, David, along with a small group of dedicated shooters, took action to establish Carson Valley Clays (CVC). David served as CVC Board President from 1995 to 2012, guiding the facility from its inception into a thriving shooting community. During his tenure, Carson Valley Clays hosted three Nevada State Shoots. Although he has stepped down as president, David continues to be actively involved in club activities. He consistently serves as a valued mentor to newly elected board members. His guidance is invaluable as the current board strives to honor the club’s traditions while addressing its evolving needs. Armed with decades of institutional knowledge, a passion for the shooting sports, and unwavering dedication to Carson Valley Clays, David is widely regarded as a pillar of the club and a trusted advisor. Through his lifelong commitment to shooting sports and his home club, David has helped Carson Valley Clays grow into a premier shooting venue that proudly maintains a membership waiting list. For more than three decades, David has exemplified the values of leadership, service, sportsmanship, and dedication that define Nevada’s sporting clays community. His vision helped preserve and grow the sport in Northern Nevada, while his ongoing mentorship and commitment continue to influence future generations of sporting clay shooters.
